Deadline: May 21st, 2020

Since this year, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Society for Animation Studies has had to cancel its annual conference and postpone it to 2021, Animation Studies 2.0 will dedicate its month of June to the publication of papers selected for the 2020 Society for Animation Studies. While not equivalent to a conference presentation, the blog will enable conference participants to share their research findings now instead of waiting until next year’s conference. We invite interested accepted presenters to submit their papers in one of the following two formats:

  • A blog post of between 850 and 1100 words. Contributors are encouraged to include clips and at least two images (with their captions) of no more than 2MB each to support their posts.
  • A video essay of 15 minutes maximum, accompanied by a short introductory text of between 300 and 400 words. The maximum filesize for the video-essay is: 500MB. Accepted file types are: .mov, .mp4, .m4v or .avi

Regardless of the format chosen contributors are asked to please include also a short bio (max 100 words) and 3 keywords. All permissions are the responsibility of the contributor. Please contact the managing editor, Cristina Formenti (cristina.formenti@unimi.it), with submissions or questions. If you chose to submit a video essay, please do so via Google Drive or Dropbox.
